About Me

Helena “Tiare” Olsen is a rum and tiki drink connoisseur and cocktail enthusiast living in Stockholm, Sweden. Her life philosophy is “On a demerara rum journey one rum at a time” and to “set the Mai Tai recipe straight wherever she goes”

Her blog “A Mountain of Crushed Ice” is all about rum, tiki drinks and more. She travels every year to her beloved 2nd home New Orleans to see friends and blog the Tales of the Cocktail. She´s also a member of the CSOWG, Mixoloseum , Ministry of Rum and RumXP

She is especially interested in cocktail garnishing and ice, and is a collector of fine demerara rums. After leaving the restaurants work where she did cook for many years she is now working with sales – but her real passion is in the cocktail world.

Her favorite cocktails are the Sazerac, the Daiquiri and a proper Trader Vic´s Mai Tai – the way its supposed to be made.
